Calming Color Hues For a Serene Home
Updated: May 18, 2022
Who doesn't love to go to a resort and have a day at the spa? Or, spend a day at the beach to unwind, reflect and destress? Why not create the same serene environment at home? The right color pallet will give you a tranquil, calm feeling in your own home. Check out the Calming Color Hues For a Serene Home below for your interior decor inspiration.

Neutral Color Hues
Try a tone on tone effect with Benjamin Moore's White Dove OC-17 for walls and trim. This is a soft warm white with a touch of grey. White Dove will make a small room feel larger and brighter. A neutral background will also provide a nice canvas for any color design you have in mind. Benjamin Moore Neutral Paint selections shown below.

Neutral color tones are not boring. Wainscoting trim in White Dove on a wall painted in Grey Owl makes a sophisticated statement and still leaves a neutral canvas to accessorize with color. Coordinating grass cloth is also shown above. Magnolia decorative accessory shown above can be found here (#ad).

Add soft color hues in blue or green with your upholstery fabrics, rugs and window treatments. Romi Tufted Cocktail Ottoman shown above can be found at Frontgate.com. Use the link here to receive $50 off your purchase (#ad). Read Frontgate.com referral disclosure here.

Interchange decorative pillows in pastel shades for seasonal color. Similar settee can be found here (#ad).

The neutral office above is accented with glass accessories to incorporate the colors in the skyline view. Home office desk can be found here (#ad).

Blue Color Hues
Blue color hues are soothing and relaxing. Have you ever noticed medical facilities, insurance and investment companies, usually have blue color tones in their waiting areas? Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, and confidence.

"How To Tip"
After selecting new paint colors, paint a section of the wall in the room you will be updating. Or, order a large 14" x 9" paint sample card and leave it in the room that will be remodeled. Paint samples can be found here (#ad). Look at the sample color throughout the day as the natural light changes to make sure you are in love with your new color choice before painting the entire room. #HowToSelectaPaintColor

I love to add black accents for a contrast which makes a statement in the design.

What a nice boudoir to help one relax and go to sleep at the end of a stressful day. Try Benjamin Moore's Mt. Rainer Gray 2129-60 for bedroom walls. Similar fabric bed and bench can be found here (#ad).

Green Color Hues
Recreate a day at the beach with neutrals, blue/green and grey/green tints. These colors are relaxing choices for walls, kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Green is associated with refreshment, peace, rest and security. Green is also a healing color as it offers a balance between our body and mind. It brings harmony.

"How To Tip"
Always try a paint sample before painting an entire room. The color may vary depending on how much natural light you have in the area to be painted. I order 14" x 9" paint samples to view in the location to be painted. Large paint samples for trim and walls can be found here (#ad). #Beachcolorhues #CalmingPaintColors #CoolColors #WaterColorHues #SpaColorHues
